Breakfast Porridge Recipe

I wanted to share my favorite breakfast porridge recipe. It’s gluten free, dairy free and sugar free! Don’t worry it is delicious, filling easy to make and takes all of a few minutes! I love this in the winter months when it’s cold.

  • Pick 1 serving of fruit of your choice. I usually use an apple or a banana but pears or berries would work too

  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp of cream of rice

  • 1 tbsp of flax meal

  • 1 cup of almond milk (or any other plant based milk)

  • 1/4 tsp of cardamom

  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

  • couple slices of ginger

  • Salt to taste

I’ll be honest i get mixed review for the ginger. I personally like the bit of spice or kick it adds. you can also use any spices you like. I have also used a chai spice blend, or masala spices. I’ve even used 1/2 a teaspoon of Blue Lotus Chai - the Anise Masala is delicious! if caffeine is an issue they also have a rooibos version which is caffeine free.

The quickest way to make this would be to put it all in a blender and heat it up on the stove.

Or you can sautee the fruit with ghee and the spices, once tender you can add all the other ingredients and once it thickens your done and you can add the salt to taste and get ready to eat.

In the warmer months you can put all these ingredients in a blender and drink it cold as a smoothie.
